3. La Rambla - take a stroll down one of Europe's most famous streets. You encounter human statues that will surprise you if you throw them a coin. On La Rambla, you can buy everything from flowers to live hens.

4. Sagrada Familia - even if it costs money to enter the cathedral, the greatness of Gaudi's unfinished Cathedral can just as well be viewed from the outside. The only thing you might miss are the crowds waiting to climb the cathedral towers.

8. Barcelona beaches - Barcelona has several nice beaches in the central parts of the city. All of Barcelona's beaches are free so just bring a towel, read a book, sunbathe or swim.

9. Barcelona Cathedral - this 93 meter high cathedral was already built by 1298. It has a gothic, almost frightening appearance. A few steps away is another famous cathedral, Santa Maria del Mar, also known from the book "The Cathedral by the Sea".

10. Montjüic - besides the beautiful view over Barcelona there are a lot of things to do on this magical mountain. The opening ceremony for the Olympics 1992 took place here and today you can enter the arena for free.
