Are you a sports traveller?
YYou travel first and foremost to Barcelona because you want to experience a major sporting event. Shopping, culture and museums have to come in second.

What is there for you in Barcelona?
Barcelona organizes many major sporting events every year. Some of the most important ones are Formula 1, Moto GP, Barcelona Open (tennis) and of course soccer with FC Barcelona. FC Barcelona also has good basketball and handball teams which are involved in the Euro Liga (basketball) and Champions (handball) competitions.

Where should you stay when you visit Barcelona?
You can actually stay wherever you want in Barcelona. The FC Barcelona stadiumCamp Nou is centrally located and easy to reach by metro. The basketball and the handball games are played in the Palau Blaugrana, which is directly connected to the Camp Nou.

Motor sport events such as Formula 1 and Moto GP are held at the Montmelo circuit, 35 km north of Barcelona. There are some hotels in Montmelo but both trains and buses run every half hour from Barcelona so I recommend that you book your hotel in the city.

Walk the the self-guided tour through the Camp Nou, taking you through the changing rooms, the press room and of course to the players’ dugouts beside the pitch. The tour ends in the Barcelona Museum, where you can admire all the trophies the club has won through the years.
