Barcelona shopping guide - shopping street guide |
|
|
|

The shopping streets are marked with purple

|
Shopping is fun in Barcelona! Wander through shopping streets more than 5 km long while admiring some of the most famous landmarks in the city. The main shopping streets take you past the Columbus lookout tower, La Rambla, La Pedrera, Casa Batllo, and Barri Gotic.
The shopping streets can be divided into three areas:
* Port Vell, Barri Gótic, Las Ramblas, Pl. Catalunya
* Eixample - Passeig de Gràcia, Rambla Catalunya
* Diagonal - Pedralbes
Port Vell, Barri Gótic,
La Rambla, Pl. Catalunya
These neighbourhoods are the oldest in Barcelona so obviously they’re full of history. Let's start down at the port at the modern shopping- and entertainment complex Maremágnum.
Here is also the beginning of Barcelona's most famous and colourful street: Las Ramblas. It is full of street vendors, flower stands, street artists and unfortunately pickpockets. Learn more about how you can protect yourself against pickpockets here.
Next to Las Ramblas are the
El Raval,
La Ribera (El Borne) and
Barri
Gotic districts. Here are the trendiest shops mixed in with the traditional shops.
On the Placa Catalunya is El Corte Ingles, Barcelona's biggest department store but there are also several other major shopping brands, such as FNAC and SFERA.
Interesting landmarks in this district are: Santa Maria del Mar, Palau de la Musica Catalana, Columbus lookout tower, Liceu opera, Palau Güell (Gaudí) and Barcelona cathedral.
Eixample - Passeig de
Gràcia, Rambla Catalunya
On the mighty Gaudí street Passeig de Gracia you can find some of Barcelona's best shopping. Among the modernist buildings are shops like Burberry, Gucci, Desigual, Luis Vuitton and Adolfo Dominguez. There is also the Boulevard Rosa, a shopping centre with many brands and design from the region. Boulevard Rosa connects the two shopping streets Passeig de Gràcia and Rambla Catalunya.
Interesting landmarks in this district are: Casa Amatller
Casa Batlló,
La Pedrera and the lamp posts and benches that are
placed along the Passeig de Gràcia.
Diagonal - Pedralbes
Along the street Diagonal and in the Pedralbes neighbourhood are the most exclusive shops in Barcelona. This is also the business district of Barcelona. Visit the Pedralbes Shopping Centre, which is built as a cube and contains the most exclusive Catalan and Spanish brands. There is even an ice-skating rink during Christmas! Another eye-catching shopping centre in the area is the Diagonal Shopping Centre.
Interesting landmarks in this district are: Palau Reial de Pedralbes,
Camp Nou (FC Barcelona) , Palau De Congressos de Catalunya and Monestir
de Pedralbes.
