Gaudí, a mysterious and deeply religious man, worked on the Sagrada
Familia with even greater determination than his previous works. After
accepting the challenge of building the cathedral, he would spend the rest
of his life working on it.
During the last years of his life, Gaudí lived in one of the small spaces
inside the Sagrada Familia so that he could spend as much time there as
possible. He wanted to finish the construction of the Cathedral during his
lifetime but that proved to be impossible. Today, more than 80 years after
Gaudi's death, it's still not finished and experts claim that they need at

that rise nearly 100 meters above ground and with pinnacles decorated with
The spires of the Cathedral combine modernism with Gothic architecture in
a spectacular way. But the most spectacular part of the Cathedral is yet

Gaudi was only 31 years old when he began working on the Sagrada Familia.
He let his imagination run free in designing the cathedral and left behind
a beautiful building.
