Car rental Barcelona - how to rent cheap cars in Barcelona |
|
|
|

To rent a car in Barcelona
has many advantages
|
|
|
Go by car in Barcelona
Barcelona, despite its size, is a fairly easy city to drive in. The
streets in the square grid that represents the central district of
Eixample are all one-way and therefore it is easy to know where you are.
Parking on the street cost about 2.50 € per hour in practically the entire city
between 9 a.m - 2 p.m and 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. During the weekends it's generally
free to park. There are, though, some exceptions such as around Barcelona's
beaches.
Catalonia has many beautiful areas and most of them are easy to reach in less
than an hour.
Day trips less than an hour away:
Sitges
Peñedes wine region
Montserrat
Port
Aventura
Renting a car in Barcelona
There is a wide choice of car rental companies in Barcelona and at the
airports of Barcelona, Girona and Reus. Here you can find all the major rental
companies such as Avis, Hertz and Europcar. You can rent at the airport but it's
usually more expensive given the administration costs of completing all the
paperwork at the counter.
A cheaper option is to book your rental car from home online. The online
agencies rent through companies like Hertz but at a much lower price than Hertz
themselves. On their websites you can enter the time your plane arrives so they
have a car ready when you land. We recommend ebookers.com
for car rentals.
